We start with the dog, not the directory.
TailorTrained exists because finding the right dog trainer shouldn’t mean handing your phone number to five strangers and hoping one of them is good.
Why we built it
Most dog owners searching for help are stressed. The dog pulled them over, bit a guest, or howled for six hours while they were at work. They search, find a directory, fill in a form, and get a flood of calls from whoever paid for the click.
We think there’s a better order: understand the dog first, then find the one trainer who fits that dog, that problem, that budget and that neighborhood.
What we believe
- Behavior is communication. “Bad” dogs are almost always scared, frustrated, under-exercised or still learning.
- Rewards work. Every partner trainer uses rewards-based methods. No shock, prong or choke collars.
- Your details stay yours. We never sell them or hand them to a list.
- No fake proof. We don’t invent reviews, ratings or credentials. When we show it, it’s real.
How we vet trainers
Before a trainer receives a single lead, we verify identity and business details, confirm certifications with the issuing body, check insurance, and review their methods and experience with the problems they want to handle. Trainers who don’t follow up promptly or who receive repeated complaints are removed from the network.
We’re onboarding our first partner trainers now. Until one is available in your area, your plan focuses on what you can start at home.

Every good walk starts at the trailhead.
